My Journey

For more than 13 years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching children across the primary years. During that time, I’ve seen just how powerful stories can be - to spark curiosity, start conversations, build understanding and help children make sense of the world around them.

Creating practical teaching resources grew naturally from my time in the classroom. I wanted learning experiences to be engaging for children, but also simple and realistic for busy teachers to use.

Then one unexpected afternoon with my daughter gave me a completely different kind of story to tell and became the beginning of Mum… Come Look!

WHY WINGS TO GROW

I believe children learn through curiosity, connection and the everyday moments that make them stop and wonder. Through stories and practical resources, I hope to encourage kindness, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.

More than 13 years in primary classrooms gave me a love for simple, engaging learning experiences that genuinely work with young children.

Becoming a mum brought a whole new perspective to learning, curiosity and the little everyday moments children notice.

Wings to Grow began as a way to share practical resources designed to make learning meaningful for children and life a little easier for busy teachers and families.

Then a fluffy white visitor appeared in our driveway. That real family adventure became Mum… Come Look! and opened the door to sharing even more stories through Wings to Grow.

Wings to Grow brings together my love of teaching, children's books and helping little learners grow. Follow along as I bring my first picture book to life and continue creating practical resources for teachers and families.
